Save the Boston & Maine Coach
Our 1907 wooden coach, no. 1246, is in a moderate state of decay and needs to be restored. This coach, which is a former Steamtown car, was donated to the association in 2007 by a previous restorer, David Woodbury of New Hampshire. We are reaching out to organizations and donors to assist with our wooden car restoration.
Our organization does not have much of a knowledge base in this specialized work, other than some general railroad service, engineering training, and whatever general mechanical and carpentry skills we happen to have. We are very much lacking in the detailed method and materials expertise that will be needed to do a first class restoration.
If you are interested in our project and would like to get involved, please contact us! We will post updates as the project gets underway and the progress we make.
