Give a Custom Named Brick and Help Save the B&M Coach!

The Contoocook Riverway Association is offering custom-named bricks to you. In return, you’ll help us continue the restoration of the Contoocook Depot and Passenger Car. Our current project is installing a memorial brick walkway between the parking lot and Riverway Park.

Put a personal message on your brick- honor a loved one, a remembrance to a family, a secret signal or simply leave a quote for all time. With two sizes of bricks available (standard 4” x 8” and large 8” x 8”) you can fit any memorial or message.

Your donation will help us in our continued effort to create a better Depot for the town’s use. Are you aware that the Contoocook Depot and Covered Railroad Bridge are listed on the National Historic Register?

April 2024 - New location determined. The location of the previously selected area for the walkway was discussed at length and the decision to allow the adjacent mercantile to transform this spot into a nice, welcoming seating area was better suited. So, the new location is to run the walkway from Riverway Park to our parking lot where lots of foot traffic already occurs.

10/23/2021 - We received a generous donation from Weaver Brothers Construction Co. of about 120 linear feet of used granite curbing. This granite curbing will be placed as a barrier between the parking lot and the brick walkway. Granite curbing is scheduled for installation early spring 2022.

10/27/2020 - After several setbacks and other hurdles, the board of directors voted to change the scope of the brick project to a memorial brick walkway. The original apron location is anticipated to need other unrelated maintenance and drainage before any other work. This new walkway will be located along the Kirk Building in front of the depot. Here is a visual of the new location:

6/2/2019 - We completed the granite curbing alone the tracks. This was a long and difficult process due to the machinery required for the job. We also received donated curbing from Weaver Brothers Construction Company of Bow, NH to complete the section. This allows for site work to begin for the bricks!

3/12/2019 - Our third run of bricks are ordered. The granite curbing is being set. Half was set in the fall before the ground froze. We anticipate the rest to be completed by summer.

7/10/2018 - Our second run of brick printing has been ordered! The brick company requires at least 25 bricks per order so we apologize for the delay! We will begin site preparations in the coming weeks!

7/20/2017 - Our granite curbing has resurfaced! These will be installed along the new walkway between the bricks and the coach. Additional site work and preparation will need to occur before the installation of the curbing begins. Site work and brick walkway installation being provided by UCGC, LLC.
